What is CAT?

The Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Scheme comprises a combination of exams and practical experience. It is designed to equip you with all the necessary technical skills and knowledge required to fulfill an accounting role to a technician level. It also provides a firm foundation of knowledge and the opportunity to fast track towards becoming a professional ACCA accountant.

Why CAT?

The CAT qualification is internationally recognised and highly regarded. It can lead to a challenging and rewarding career. Upon completion of the exams and required practical experience, you wil be able to apply and use the letters "CAT" after your name. In addition, you will have the opportunity to join the CAT alumni.

About CAT, AIA & PGSM

The Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Scheme comprises a combincation of exams and practical experience. It is designed to equip you with all the necessary techynical skills and knowledge required to fulfill an accounting role at the technician level. It also provides a firm foundation of knowledge and the opportunity to fast track towards becoming a professional ACCA accountant.

AIA, the Association of International Accountants, is a Recognised Qualifying Body. The AIA professional qualification is also recognised throughout the European Union and in other major financial centres around the world. Based in the UK, the AIA was founded in 1928 and incorporated in London in 1932. The Association promotes and supports the advancement of the accountancy profession both in the UK and internatioanlly.

The Paris Graduate School of Management (PGSM), founded in 1975, is a renowned higher education institution which offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programmes, in English and in French, in the following fields: Business and Accounting. The group is make up of six schools and 4000 students, of which 1000 are international students from over 75 countries. Today over 15,000 PGSM alumni work across the five continents. Our academic body is composed of over 500 professors. Courses are taught in the Group's five campuses which are located in the hub of Paris.

Intakes

January, March, May, August

Entry Requirement

  1. Pass SPM with a credit in 3 subjects. Priority will be given to Mathematics and English language, OR
  2. Have a certificate with a CGPA of not less than 2.5 from any institution recognized by the Malaysian government, OR
  3. Have no less than 3 years of working experience in a similar field.

The admission committee of Mantissa reserves the right to waive certain admission standards in exceptional cases and to provide conditional status to such students.

Conditional Acceptance

Students who enrolled for Diploma programme but do not obtain a Credit grade in Mathematics or English subjects in their SPM / equivalent examination are required to undergo the following arrangement:

Condition Required Subjects
Without Credit in Mathematics MA 124 - Mathematics 1 in CBS
Without Credit in English EG 012 - Elementary English in CBS

Students must fulfil the requirements by obtaining a minimum of Grade C in the above module(s) prior to full acceptance into the Diploma programme.

Students may be required to sit for Mantissa’s Entry Requirement tests such as English Placement Test, IT skills and knowledge as recommended by the Academic Board.
