FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Dear students & parents,

Welcome back to Mantissa Institute! We hope that you have recharged your energy during the holidays and are ready to complete the second half of your semester. We are very excited to bring you updates about our latest developments as we approach Mantissa’s 10th Anniversary in 2009.

You will have seen many changes in the past few weeks; most noticeable would be the new Mantissa Postgraduate Centre (MPC) which was created to meet the increasing demand of a variety of postgraduate programmes from Europe, America and Australia . Besides that, the computers in the Internet Centre have been upgraded to meet the ICT requirements of today.

Apart from that, there will also be a bigger space for the library, classrooms and the academic room. The study area and the student lounge will be upgraded as well for your comfort as most of you spend much of your time here in Mantissa, and have considered Mantissa to be your second home.

Besides that, there will be several visiting professors who will hold special lectures for students of Mantissa. Professor Malcolm Parker from Paris Graduate School of Management will be teaching in October 2008 while Dr Stuart from University of Wales will be teaching MBA subjects including Innovation and Complexities in 2009.

Mantissa has grown in the past 9 years and we are now internationally recognized with an increased number of students from China and Vietnam . We are now also affiliated with Henan University which is a university of more than a hundred years old. Teaching centres will be established soon in Southern China and Shanghai .

Lastly, I would like to congratulate the Student Council led by its advisor Ms Megan Wong for successfully organizing a holiday trip to Langkawi.

The force of change is here, and we cannot resist it, for Mantissa to become an International College which is capable of catering to the European and Oriental experience.
