The Hospitality Supervisor
Are you getting satisfactory performance from your staff for the amount of wages you are paying? This is a course that will teach you how to build staff productivity and deal with your problem staff. It is not a course aimed specifically for supervisors but rather it is a general course in the art of supervision, communication and leadership — the course is designed for business owners, managers, supervisors and team leaders — in fact anybody who has to lead other people.
Staff Recruitment & Selection
Finding it hard to get good staff? They're out there, but you will need some advanced techniques to attract them to apply and to tell the pretenders from the committed. Learn how to lure more, better quality applicants and select the best, and most stable staff from among them. This course covers topics from the creation of a proper job description right through to reference checking. There is a major emphasis on how to interview effectively and participants will be taught a systemised method of selecting the right staff.
Train-the Trainer (our own custom hospitality version)
Given the lack of experienced staff on the job market, you may have no choice but to train inexperienced people. Proper training techniques could save you a great deal of time and money. Learn how to introduce new staff into your team and how to train them to be productive quickly and effectively. The course covers the three main types of training needed in a hospitality business: induction/orientation, skills training and behaviour training.
Food Cost Control for Chefs
How efficient is your kitchen? How much money flows through it? In most hospitality businesses the Chef controls the largest amount of money of any of your staff, and good skills in this area could make a serious improvement in your profitability. With ingredient prices being quite volatile, this is a major issue in the hospitality industry at present. The restaurant management course we provide will teach your Chef how to control your food costs in a logical and easy to digest manner.
Improving Profit
Are you producing an appropriate amount of profit from your business? What do you do if your profit is unsatisfactory or your profit and loss statements show problems in certain areas? Learn what your various options are to correct problems with your income, wage costs, food and beverage costs, and controllable overheads. This course is aimed at managers and business owners.
The Professional Manager
An advanced supervision and hotel management course for managers with large teams and a good understanding of individual staff handling. It covers the all important group productivity skills — time management, delegation, team building and problem solving. The more efficient a manager becomes, the more productive the staff are.
Marketing your Hospitality Business
Are you in a small or medium sized hospitality business and don't have much money to spend on marketing?? Learn how to plan your marketing activities properly and what your various marketing options are, without spending a fortune. Learn how to construct advertising that works, and learn how to get free publicity. For owners, managers and specialist marketing staff.
