All international students are advised to submit their applications at least 2 months prior to the commencement date of the intake to avoid any unnecessary delays in the admission process.

International Student Application Procedures

Application Requirements

  1. Complete the Online Application Form
  2. Submit together with the following documents :

a) Photocopy of passport with validity of at least 12 months (Front page for new students ; the whole booklet including ALL the blank pages for transferred College students)

b) 6 (six) passport-sized photographs

c) Highest qualification transcripts (in English Translation)

For those candidate applying from NON English Country (Additional Supporting Documents)

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

If English Language requirements are not fulfilled, additional English modules must be taken at Mantissa College

e) Release Letter & Attendance Records from your current institution (only applicable for transferred College Students)

f) NOC / LOE from the respective countries (click here to see if your country of origin requires the documents)

g) Application Fee totalling USD 1,200 / RM3, 500. You may pay the application fees in the form of a bank draft or Malaysian local cheque, or you  can telegraph

  1. If your application is successful, Mantissa College will send a Registration Package containing the Conditional Offer Letter, fee schedule, other relevant documents to you. If your application is unsuccessful, Mantissa will inform you in writing.
  2. After the issuance of the Letter of Offer, Mantissa College will submit your application for student visa to the Ministry of Higher Education and Immigration Department of Malaysia on your behalf. This process will take approximately 1-2 months.
  3. Upon obtaining the Student Pass Approval Letter from the Immigration Department, you are required to pay the advance tuition fee amounting to RM15, 000 (USD 5,000) before the Original Approval Letter is sent to you. Mantissa College will fax a copy of the Approval Letter (if necessary).
  4. Kindly bring the original approval letter together with your passport to the nearest Malaysian Embassy/Consulate as you are required to obtain a single entry permit before entering Malaysia (if applicable).

Students are required to inform Mantissa College of your arrival details at least 5 (five) working days prior to your arrival in Malaysia. Kindly take note that you must be picked up by Mantissa College’s representative at the airport in order to obtain clearance from the Immigration checkpoint

Before Arrival

Important Travel Documents 

Your passport must be kept valid for the duration of your stay and travel purposes. Maintaining a valid passport is your responsibility. Your respective home country consulates or embassy in Malaysia can assist with your passport renewals. The International Office can provide you letters certifying your enrolment should you need it to assist in revalidating your passport. It is advisable to keep your passport valid in order to be eligible for certain insurance benefits.

General Guidelines:

  1. All International Students (except Diplomatic Pass holders, Malaysian Permanent Residents (P.R.)) are required to have a Student Pass while studying at Mantissa.
  2. A Malaysian Student Pass will be applied for you on your behalf. You must hold a valid Student Pass for the entire duration of your stay at Mantissa.
  3. Once Mantissa has submitted an application for a Student Pass, you are not allowed to submit a similar application through another college or institution. This will create confusion within the Malaysian Immigration Department and may result in delay in your Student Pass application process.
  4. Student Pass approvals usually take between 6 to 8 weeks. Mantissa may not be able to obtain a Student Pass for you on time if your application to Mantissa is received less than 6 weeks from the programme intake dates.
  5. Once the Student Pass is approved, a Visa Approval Letter will be couriered to you.
  6. Kindly check with the Malaysian High Commission in your home country whether you need a visa to enter Malaysia when you receive the Approval Letter, before you purchase the air-ticket.
  7. If you do, proceed to the nearest local Malaysian diplomatic mission (i.e., Malaysian High Commission Consulate), show them the Approval Letter to obtain your single-entry visa. Students are not allowed to enter Malaysia prior to receipt of Approval Letter from the Malaysian Immigration Department.
  8. All levies charged by the Malaysian Immigration Department are to be borne by you. All payments to the said department are to be made in cash at the Payment Counter upon reporting to Mantissa, to facilitate the endorsements of the Student Pass onto the passport. A receipt will be issued for this payment.
  9. It is mandatory that Student Pass be applied and renewed through Mantissa. Not doing so will be a violation of the Malaysian Immigration Department's regulations. While we will assist in your Student Pass application, Mantissa cannot be held liable for any change in policies by the Malaysian Immigration Department in regards to issuance of Student Pass

Medical Check-Up

  1. You will need to undergo a medical check-up before entering Malaysia.
  2. Students coming from Yellow Fever Endemic Zones such as Africa and South America in particular, are reminded to ensure that they are vaccinated before entering Malaysia. A Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, valid only if the vaccine is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and administered at an approved Yellow Fever Vaccinating Centre is required from those who hail from these Zones.
  3. The Malaysian Ministry of Health will quarantine students from these Zones who come without a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate upon arrival for 2 weeks. The certificate is valid for ten 10 years, beginning 10 days after the date of vaccination.

Arrival in Malaysia

On-arrival Reception Service Airport Pick-Up

  1. Upon confirming your flight details, you are requiredfax the 'Arrival Detail Form' to Mantissa.
  2. It is mandatory that you inform the International Office personnel of your arrival at5 working days prior your arrival. Please inform the International Office of any changes to your flight arrival information.
  3. Mantissa personnel is responsible to pick-up the students and not the accompanying family members, relatives or friends. However, Mantissa will assist the accompanying members to travel by the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Limo.
  4. are not allowed to exit the Malaysian Immigration Counters at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) or the Subang Skypark Terminal without being accompanied by Mantissa personnel.
  5. Students are advised to arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) during Mantissa office hours (9am to 6pm), Monday to Friday. This is to facilitate airport pick-up by Mantissa personnel and ease hostel check-in. Try to avoid arriving on Malaysia Public Holidays.
  6. For other points of entry, there will be no pick-up service, and you must immediately report to Mantissa upon your arrival.

Arrival At Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) / Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT)

  1. In order to facilitate the airport pick-up, International Office will inform you on the specific meeting pointbefore the Immigration Checkpoint to wait for a Mantissa staff. The Immigration Checkpoint is before the Luggage Collection Hall. Please wait at the designated area within 20 minutes of exiting the aircraft. Do look out for a placard (signage) bearing the Mantissa logo.do not cross the Immigration Counter without a Mantissa personnel. Kindly wait for our assistance.
  2. A Mantissa personnel will be waiting for you just before the Immigration Counter. You will not be able to exit Immigration without a Mantissa staff present. The Mantissa personnel will assist you with Immigration clearance.
  3. The College personnel will lead you to the Luggage Collection Hall. Please make sure you check your luggage before you leave the airport. Should there be any missing luggage, kindly report immediately to the Airport's Missing Luggage Counter.
  4. There will be a money-changer located at the Arrival Hall should you wish to change some of your currency into Ringgit Malaysia (RM). All financial transactions in Malaysia are conducted in Ringgit Malaysia.
  5. A Mantissa van will be waiting for you outside the Arrival Hall.
  6. For other points of entry, there will be no pick-up service, and you must immediately report to Mantissa upon your arrival.

Post Arrival to Malaysia

General Immigration Requirements While In Malaysia

  1. You must satisfy programme requirements by attending 80% of all your scheduled classes and achieve satisfactory academic results. Failing to do so can result in your Student Pass being revoked.
  2. Attendance in classCOMPULSORY at all times unless you are able to provide a Medical Certificate (MC) from a certified doctor. Consistent failure to do so will result in your Student Pass being revoked.
  3. You are required to take responsibility of monitoringEXPIRY DATES of your passport and Student Pass.
  4. Where an extension of the Pass is required, students must submit their passports to the International Office at2 months before the expiry of the pass in order to facilitate the extension. Failing to do so would result in paying an extra RM100.00 to obtain a Special Pass.
  5. All penalties imposed by the Malaysian Immigration Department in the event of late extension or expiry of Student Pass are to be borne by the student.

Two weeks before completion of your education in Mantissa, you are required to inform the International Office to cancel your Student Pass or it might lead to forfeiture of the Bond Deposit.
